Terms for the free beta
Garden is a free open beta: nothing is for sale, there is no price, account, activation, or remote entitlement check. Garden for Mac will be paid; the paid terms will be written before launch. iPhone ships free, and the web app is free during the beta. Optional bank connections use SimpleFIN; no other bank provider is in this build.
Garden fills documents from records you enter. It is not tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. The software is provided as is, with no uptime or liability promise; keep your own backups. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited by agreement. Questions: garden@khushin.com.
Refund
Garden is free during the beta. Nothing is for sale, so there is no purchase, payment, or price to refund. This page will be rewritten before a paid launch with the payment provider, refund window, and contact route.
Privacy
Records you type and statements you import stay on your device in an encrypted vault. Garden does not upload your ledger or imported statement; parsing, categorisation, calculations, and document generation run locally. There is no account, sign-in, analytics, ads, tracking, sale, or sharing.
SimpleFIN is optional and the only bank-sync path. You buy and manage its Bridge directly from SimpleFIN, which receives the bank credentials you provide under its policy. Garden stores the resulting connection credential in your encrypted vault. During refresh, that credential and returned account and transaction data pass through Garden’s relay in readable form for seconds, then are discarded: the Worker writes neither to a database nor an application log. Manual import works without it. Bank connections are not part of this beta; import a statement until that path opens.
Optional device sync encrypts the vault before sending it. The Worker stores ciphertext, a revision, and a timestamp; it cannot see the passphrase or decryption key.
Two Cloudflare Worker paths are rate limited by IP. SimpleFIN setup writes an approximate IP-keyed counter to Cloudflare KV for up to two minutes; beta signup writes one for up to an hour. These counters are not joined to a ledger, account name, email, or Garden identifier and are not analytics. They are the only things Garden’s own server records about a visitor. Cloudflare edge logs, Apple, SimpleFIN, Resend, and recipient mail providers are outside Garden’s control.
Usage counts are off unless you allow them. The allowlist is onboarding_beat_reached, onboarding_completed, and section_opened (Overview, Transactions, Plan, Documents, or Learn). No event includes a merchant, account name, note, balance, transaction, statement, dollar amount, user id, device fingerprint, or session id.
Garden does not escrow keys, recover vaults, give operators vault access, or receive readable ledger data server-side. It does not require a subscription, receive card numbers during this beta, or check up on you; a build you have keeps working. Email and vault stores share no identifier or key. Export or delete local records whenever you choose. Privacy questions and data requests: garden@khushin.com.
Financial disclaimer
Garden is not tax, legal, or financial advice. It arranges your records into documents and forms, including SBA Form 413, Schedule C, and Form W-9; it does not prepare or review returns, e-file, or contact the IRS, SBA, or another agency. No government agency has reviewed, certified, endorsed, or approved Garden or its documents.
You are responsible for everything you file or share. Check every document, its arithmetic, and its current form revision before signing or sending it. A short version of this disclaimer appears on every generated document and survives PDF export.
