Garden is a private friends-and-family beta, and the beta is free. Purchase is not open, and there is no price to quote yet — the number gets set at launch, once the storefront's own fees are known. Naming one before then would be inventing it.

What is already decided
- Garden for Mac is the paid product. You buy a download. There is no key to enter, no account to make, and nothing in the app that checks up on you — so there is nothing that can expire or be switched off.
- Garden for iPhone ships free.
- The web app is free during the beta.
- A build you already have keeps working. Because no build contains a check, nothing stops when the beta window closes. New builds after that are paid.
Things that cost money to run are separate
Anything needing a server we operate or a data provider we pay is priced on its own and is not part of buying the app. That covers device sync and bank connections.
Bank connections are not priced yet. The per-connection cost is still being settled with the provider, and Garden will not quote a monthly number before it knows its own. Bank connections in the beta are optional and use SimpleFIN; Plaid is not in this build.
Garden works without any of it. Importing a statement file is a first-class path, not a fallback.
